When you are an online retailer, writing product descriptions can be a time-consuming activity. Another challenge they present is SEO. How do you write 300 unique words about very similar necklaces that only differ by a couple of beads? Unique content that is relevant, well-written with subtle use of keywords and is still converts traffic to sales. This challenge certainly isn’t unique to Present Company in Clevedon. I was asked to write the product descriptions for the Fresco range of jewellery by Ronin Designs that Present Company is a stockist for. My solution was to use the product category page to attract visitors to the site and then the product descriptions to help convert that traffic to sales.
The product category page meets the 300 words standard, has the keywords and the internal and external links that make for good SEO. The product descriptions, such as this necklace or this bracelet talk about how the item can be worn, what it goes with and ultimately to sell the “lifestyle” of the item to the potential customer.
